Official steps checked October 10, 2026. App versions, device features and menu labels differ. The basic paths use existing devices and free features; storage allowances and existing usage still apply. Optional paid storage and editing are not required. If space is full, keep a local copy where available or pause; do not start a trial.

Freeify does not perform OCR or add a searchable text layer. A photo or scan can be image-only. Google describes Drive scans as searchable PDFs, but recognition can fail; open the actual file and check text selection/search. Do not assume editing or converting a scan makes its words searchable.
